Paper joins forces with thirdweb
Today, we’re really excited to announce that Paper has been acquired by thirdweb — joining forces to empower builders with the most complete web3 development stack!
Why we’re joining forces with thirdweb
We built Paper to make web3 accessible to everyone, and to bring blockchain technology to every user on the internet.
In 18 months, we’ve onboarded 500k+ people to web3 — processing over $10 million in transactions & working with everyone from web3-native startups, to renown brands, to Fortune 500 companies.
As partners with complementary products, we’ve already worked closely with the thirdweb team — partnering up to launch projects for companies like Fnatic, Fractal, and New York Fashion Week.
We’ve always admired how their tools empowered developers to easily launch blockchain-based apps. Frequently, we partnered on launches where a web2 developer used thirdweb’s SDKs to build an application, and Paper’s SDKs to onboard their users onto it.
Over time, we’ve also discovered that our company values are closely aligned — and that we shared the mission of making the benefits of blockchain technology accessible to every user on the internet.
With our deep synergies at both the product & company level, joining forces with thirdweb was a natural fit. By unifying our suite of tools, we’re excited to empower builders with the most complete web3 development toolkit.
And by joining forces, we believe we can accelerate the web3 ecosystem together — with more seamless integrations that make it faster & easier to build world-class apps, onboarding more users to web3 as a result.
With that, Edward & I will be joining thirdweb in key senior roles, along with our founding team, to continue building Paper’s suite of tools!

And with this acquisition, you can now get everything you need to build blockchain-based applications from just one provider — consolidating our offerings & integrating them into the same (composable) stack.
Nothing changes with how you use Paper today, but we’ll let you know well in advance if or when there is any action you must take. There will be no disruption in service, and Paper will continue to be fully functional for all of your current apps and users’ wallets. You won’t need to create new accounts, update payment methods, or change API keys.
The fastest way to build web3 apps
Looking towards the future, we’ve barely scratched the surface when it comes to expanding the web3 ecosystem. There’s a massive opportunity to make blockchain development tools more accessible, and for anyone to build world-class web3 apps that will onboard the next billion onto web3.
By joining forces with thirdweb, we’re excited to bring even more powerful web3 development tools to all of our customers! With our industry-leading tools combined, our all-in-one solution is going to set us up perfectly as the default developer platform for blockchain apps.
